In Portugal, invoicing requires certified software

Portuguese law requires invoices to be issued by software certified by the Tax Authority (SAF-T PT). Clinika OS runs your clinic — scheduling, clients, billing — but it isn't a certified issuer on its own.

That's where CentralGest comes in, which is certified. Clinika sends it the invoice data and CentralGest returns the official fiscal document, with its number, series and ATCUD. All without leaving your app.

    Request the access code

    CentralGest emails you a code (token) when you request API access.

    In Clinika OS: Settings → Integrations → CentralGest → “Configure”.

    Clinika reads your CentralGest account automatically — no fiscal codes to type.

Frequently asked questions

Is Clinika OS certified by the Portuguese Tax Authority?
Clinika OS runs the clinic and its billing, but the certified fiscal document is issued by CentralGest, which is certified by the AT. This is the legal way to issue invoices in Portugal from Clinika.
What is the ATCUD?
The ATCUD is the unique document code required by the AT, made up of the series validation code and the sequential number. CentralGest assigns it automatically when it certifies each invoice.
Do I need a CentralGest account?
Yes. Certified invoicing uses your own CentralGest account. If you already use CentralGest for accounting, just connect it; otherwise, request API access from CentralGest.
What if the client has no tax number?
The invoice is still issued, to a final consumer. You don't have to turn away clients without a tax number.
Can I issue invoices, invoice-receipts and credit notes?
Yes. Clinika automatically picks the right document type — Invoice, Invoice-Receipt or Credit Note — based on the payment and context.
What is SAF-T PT?
SAF-T PT is the standardised file businesses export to the Tax Authority, containing the record of invoices and accounting. Only certified software generates it correctly — which is why invoicing must be certified.
Are invoices reported to the Tax Authority automatically?
Yes. On issuing, CentralGest reports the invoice to the AT. Reporting is also covered by the monthly SAF-T export, so you never risk forgetting one.
Can I use series already registered with the AT?
Yes. Certified invoicing uses the series and numbering from your CentralGest account — including series already registered with the AT — so the number and ATCUD are valid from the very first invoice.
